As of June 2020, we are thrilled to welcome Dr. Katarzyna Gibas, a NW suburban native, to our EGAH team. She first came to Elmwood-Grove Animal Hospital as a pre-veterinary student extern, while studying at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She joined us the next year, during summer break, as a veterinary assistant. After completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from the University of Illinois, she began veterinary school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a proud graduate of the Class of 2020.

We know you'll be as impressed as we are by Dr. Gibas' work ethic. During school, she served on the board for the Companion Animal Club, Feline Club, and Anesthesia and Analgesia Club. She also greatly enjoyed volunteering in spay/neuter clinics and working to provide affordable veterinary care to low-income populations in the Madison area. She is happy to be back in the Chicago area, where she lives with her cat and dog, Ollie and Max. During her free time, she enjoys reading books and playing video games.

As an added bonus: she is bilingual and can speak both English and Polish. "Ona mówi po polsku!"
